October 2019

Hey friends,

God has done some really cool things in the last month. I'm going to share two of those things with you now in hopes that you'll be encouraged by what God is doing through your prayer and financial support.

One, there's this girl named Emily. She's a freshman at TWU, I mentioned her last month. Emily and I are in the middle of a 10-week long Bible study that is taking us through the ENTIRE story of scripture. It's a daunting task but super rewarding. Emily, who has never opened the Bible for herself, is learning so much about the heart of God through the story that he wrote and left us. She's thrown herself into community, committed to the Lord and to obeying him, and finding freedom along the way. It's been a sweet gift from God to get to walk with her and seek truth with her. She reminds me a lot of myself when I was her age. God moved mountains in my life; and I think I'm going to get to see him do it again in hers.

Second, FALL CAMP. Y'all, we had such a great time. This past weekend we took all the students to Mount Lebanon camp for the weekend. Our theme for the weekend revolved around the idea of scriptural community. What does God want community to look like? How has he asked each of us to be actively involved in one another lives? What does he require of us in "church" settings, to be passive receivers or actual participants? We reminded ourselves that true worship is lived out in relationship throughout the week. Those closest to us should get our best, not our worst. We don't stop being disciples at home. At camp, our cores grew closer to each other, friendships were forged, and lives were changed.

I hope that you all are doing well. Despite whatever storms are on the horizon for you, I pray you look to Jesus as he sleeps in the boat next to you and follow his example. He knows who his Yahweh is; so ought we. Praying that you find rest in the knowledge of God's good control. (Mark 4:38ish)

Thank you for all your support over the years. I'm happy and grateful to have you guys in my corner. Let me know if I can be praying for anything specific.

Yours on the campus,
K Paz
